Biography


Dr Albert (Bert) Steenge is Professor of Economics at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He is Senior Member of the Netherlands Institute of Government and Member of the Institute for Government Studies. He is also a Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge, UK. 

Albert Steenge is a member of the Council of the International Input-Output Association. In addition, he is co-editor of Structural Change & Economic Dynamics, member of editorial board of Economic Systems Research, and co-editor of the series Forschung und Wissenschaft.  

 
As visiting professor, he has lectured and done research at a large number of universities and institutes, including Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute,Troy, NY, the University of Bologna, Cambridge University, UK, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Mass.  

Albert Steenge is well-known for his contributions to the field of ‘Input-Output Analysis’. He continues to be fascinated by the insights this field brings to understanding our ever-changing world. His interests include modern dynamic theory, the history of economic thought, economic catastrophe theory, green policies, and the New Institutional Economics to interpret all this.  

Privately, Albert Steenge (Bert, to his friends) is interested in traveling, visiting art galleries or museums. His interests include rare books, historic maps, ancient history, geology, wine tasting, and the Caribbean.
